Job description

Operations Manager (5 locations) – The Seafood Bar

Do you want full responsibility for multiple high-performing restaurants and make a direct impact on growth, quality, and results?

At The Seafood Bar, you’ll have the opportunity to take five locations across the Netherlands to the next level. You’re not just responsible for operations. You build teams, improve performance, and make sure everything runs at the highest standard, from numbers to culture.

This is not a role where you simply keep things running. This is a role where you improve, accelerate, and build.

The impact you make

As Operations Manager, you are the driving force behind the performance of all Seafood Bar restaurants in the Netherlands. You lead General Managers, bring structure, and elevate both people and results.

You constantly switch between strategy and execution, from Monday leadership meetings at HQ to being present on the floor and in the numbers throughout the week. You act as a sparring partner, coach, and end-responsible leader.

You go beyond managing and focus on continuous improvement and growth. You coach and develop General Managers into strong leaders and steer performance through clear KPI’s and profitability, including GOP. You identify opportunities before others do and ensure they are executed effectively. You analyse and improve processes, implement new ways of working, and drive projects that enhance overall performance.

Your scope and responsibility:

You continuously work on improving guest satisfaction, reflected in reviews and overall experience, while also strengthening employee engagement and team performance. At the same time, you improve efficiency, margins, and the overall quality of operations. You ensure compliance with quality standards, including HACCP, and bring structure and consistency to a dynamic environment.

You are not only responsible for the results, you define how those results are achieved.

You build strong teams, increase ownership, and actively manage HR-related topics such as performance conversations, development, onboarding, and strategy. In addition, you take responsibility for broader business areas such as marketing and a wide range of ongoing projects, from operational improvements to initiatives like terrace upgrades, permit processes, and implementations. You think strategically and translate this into concrete improvements on the floor. This is reflected in weekly leadership meetings and monthly KPI reviews.

Job requirements

Who we’re looking for:

This is a role for someone who wants to go beyond simply “managing”:

  • You have a strong track record in leading multiple restaurants or locations simultaneously and know how to balance hands-on involvement with steering from a distance. You are used to working with clear KPIs and can demonstrate how you have structurally improved performance, both in terms of financial results and team development.

  • You bring proven experience in coaching and developing General Managers. You elevate leadership teams, strengthen their capabilities, and ensure they, in turn, build high-performing teams. You combine a coaching mindset with the ability to challenge, hold people accountable, and step in when needed.

  • You are analytically strong and know how to translate data and performance metrics into clear, actionable improvements on the floor. At the same time, you remain operationally sharp and hands-on, quickly identifying what needs to change and acting on it.

  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing environment where not everything is fully defined yet. You bring structure, clarity, and direction without slowing down momentum.

  • You communicate confidently at all levels of the organisation, from leadership team to restaurant floor, and know how to lead people through change.

  • In short, you’ve done this before, you know what works, and you’re ready to take on a broader scope and greater responsibility.

What we offer: The basics

  • Monthly salary between €4,500 and €5,750 (depending on experience)

  • Annual bonus scheme

  • Travel allowance up to €275 per month

  • Pension plan

  • 8% holiday allowance

  • 26 vacation days per year

Additional benefits

  • 20% discount at all The Seafood Bar locations

  • Professional and fast-growing work environment

  • Plenty of opportunities for personal growth and career development

  • Access to internal and external training programs

  • A warm, close-knit team with engaged colleagues

  • Regular social activities and sports events

  • Work at prime locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht, London, and Curaçao

We are The Seafood Bar:

In 2012, we opened our first restaurant. Since then, we have grown into a rapidly expanding company with six popular and modern locations in Amsterdam, Utrecht, London and Curaçao. Every day, we serve high-quality, sustainable, and creative dishes with pride. In addition to lunch and dinner, you can now also visit our exclusive Speakeasy bar, Zum Barbarossa, where we serve flavorful cocktails and snacks, and on weekends, a DJ sets the mood and people dance.

Our ambition is big; we strive to deliver the best results every day, both for our guests and our valued colleagues (over 200 in total). We are a family business, and we are proud of that. Our office team (Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, IT, and HR) works together to ensure everything behind the scenes in our restaurants runs smoothly. As a new colleague, you will be joining an enthusiastic and informal team that values collaboration and development. Will you be the newest member of our Seafood Family?
