About Noa
Hidden beneath the iconic Beurs van Berlage, in what was once a bicycle cellar, a completely new nightlife experience will open this autumn in the heart of Amsterdam: Noa. An exclusive restaurant-bar-club where music, atmosphere, gastronomy, and design come together.Noa is located in a stunning space with no fewer than 23 monumental arches, a historic location where even the King and Queen were married. During dinner, we serve refined Japanese bites, prepared by you, our culinary sushi chef. Later in the evening, we effortlessly transition into a vibe of late-night drinks, great artists, and dancing until the early hours (on weekends).
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Assistant Sushi Chef with a passion for Japanese cuisine. You already have some experience preparing sushi and are ready to further develop your skills in a high-quality and dynamic work environment. What we are looking for is dedication, precision and enthusiasm. We will provide the right guidance and training.
Training will be provided by none other than Chef Ken from Ken Sushi, a well-known name in Amsterdam’s sushi scene. Under his guidance, you will learn the finer points of the craft and contribute to the preparation of refined Japanese sushi and bites that perfectly match the atmosphere and style of Noa.
Noa will open in October 2025, but we are looking for someone who is available to start earlier. You will have the opportunity to begin training with Ken ahead of the opening so you will be fully prepared. Naturally, this also means you can be hired under contract with The Seafood Bar before the official opening.
What You Will Do
You support the preparation of sushi and other Japanese dishes according to high quality standards
You work with fresh ingredients and learn under the guidance of experienced chefs
You help with service preparation and ensure a clean and organized workspace
You contribute to a positive and professional atmosphere in the kitchen team
What We Are Looking For
You have around 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with sushi
You have a strong passion for Japanese cuisine and want to grow in this field
You work with precision and have an eye for detail
You are eager to learn, enthusiastic and open to guidance and feedback
You speak fluent English, Dutch is not required
You are available around August 1st 2025 for training and preparation
