About Noa
Hidden beneath the iconic Beurs van Berlage, in what was once a bicycle cellar, a completely new nightlife experience is set to open this autumn in the heart of Amsterdam: Noa. An exclusive restaurant-bar-club where music, atmosphere, gastronomy and design come together. Noa is located in an extraordinary space with no less than 23 monumental arches – a historic location where even the King and Queen were married.

From 5:00 PM, we serve refined Japanese bites, prepared by you, our culinary sushi chef. As the evening progresses, the vibe shifts seamlessly to late-night drinks, quality DJs and dancing until the early hours in the weekends.

Noa is an initiative by The Seafood Bar Group, aimed at creating a new kind of experience in Amsterdam’s nightlife scene.

Job requirements

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef with a passion for Japanese cuisine and a drive to create exceptional sushi. You’ll be responsible for crafting the most refined and beautifully presented sushi and bites that match the exclusive experience of Noa. You’ll work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure every guest receives a top-tier culinary journey. We’re seeking someone who not only masters the craft but also knows how to inspire a team and impress guests time and time again.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare sushi with precision and according to the highest culinary standards

  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of top quality

  • Collaborate with the team to develop creative sushi dishes that align with Noa’s concept

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace

  • Train and guide kitchen staff when needed

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience with sushi restaurants in a management position

  • A deep passion for Japanese cuisine

  • Experience in high-end, luxury hospitality – you understand what it means to deliver sushi at the highest level

  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail in both flavour and presentation

  • A professional attitude and strong team player

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
